I spent almost half a year in Pontresina, working as an au pair for a family that otherwise lived near Zurich. Since the family paid for my ski-school, we "more experienced" went to a different area every day of that week. Otherwise I could ski almost as much as I wanted, too. The closeness of StMoritz gave it's own flavour to the whole athmosphere.
