Cross-Country Skiing
by german_eagle
The Engadine is a paradise for cross-country skiiers. About 180 km tracks are groomed for both classical and skating style. Since it is located at (for the Alps) unusual high altitude it is very snow reliable. Easy tracks lead along the main valley, more challenging tracks lead into romantic side valleys (Fex, Roseg, Bever, Forno).
It is pure fun to run across the frozen lakes, but be forewarned: sometimes a cold wind blows down the valley from Maloja, called Maloja Wind. So check before you start and choose the right direction!
Schools are to find in every village. Maps are sold in tourist information centres. You may be asked to pay for the use of the cross-country tracks (6 Sfr. per day), but it is your decision. You can rent equipment in every village in sport shops. No problem. I personally prefer to bring my own.

Rhätische Bahn (RhB):
a trainline as a UNESCO-worldheritage
Rhaetische Bahn (RhB) was granted the title of a UNESCO worldheritage in the year 2008, mainly for its extraordinary construction of breathtaking bridges and tunnels taking this narrow-gauge railway through the swiss mountains all year long. There are the Albula and the Bernina lines between Thusis (close to Chur) and Tirano in Italy.
There are several Deals and offers for this railway, just click on the link below !
In summertime they offer special wagons without a roof - see one of them in my 3rd photo and all year long they also have wagons with extra windows in the roof, like shown in my 4th pic.
A strange town with a great surrounding
by globetrott
I have to admit, I did not like St.Moritz at all, but I think that the surrounding is really worth seeing for several days.
The town of St. Moritz is mainly consisting of oversized, ugly houses and shops, its quite expensive and not worth the trouble in my opinion, but decide for yourself !
