The hotel still has old-world charm, the staff is very friendly, the food very good (4-course dinner with choices). From the room (and the dining room) I had gorgeous views of the lake, St. Moritz and the mountains - that alone was worth the money.
I also liked the ambience in the hotel very much. It has a good size, not too big, not too small. It is family run by an enthusiastic whiskey, wine and cigarrs connoisseur.
The views! Spectacular the sunsets, the views of the mountains and the lake. And while St. Moritz is a rather ugly town by day it is fascinating by night.
Another advantage is the central location, only a few steps from the railway station and bus stop, excellent for excursions like Glacier Express or Bernina Express.
