The Place to Avoid in Lucerne

This is the worst hotel experience of my life but I still laugh at a few things. I have no idea how much they had to pay off someone to get a *** rating. I am sure the hotel was very nice at one time, a long long time ago. The rooms were so threadbare you could actually see through the chair. Nothing worked and it was a long shot from being very clean. Also the place houses an international tourism school and the students are housed throughout the hotel and play their music very loud all night and have fights with their (sounded like) soon to be ex of the moment. The breakfast was the part that still brings laughs. The head chef (I guess) came out and did not like the way the staff had arranged the buffet so he started yelling and throwing stuff. Yes a food fight of one. The few people who were there just sat in stunned silence staring at each other trying to decide if they should run for their lives or jump under the table for cover. The chef then went into the kitchen and we were entertained by the breaking of glasses and the crashing of pans. Happy to report we all lived and are still laughing about it. I am laughing as I write this but honestly, there are better ways to get a laugh when you are traveling - stay somewhere else. This place was also expensive!

Great place if you forgot your stereo and want to listen to someone else's all night

Always insist on a south facing room - at least then you have a wonderful lake view.
