just a reminder for my next trip
I did not yet stay there, but plan to do so in my next time in Luzern. This hotel is in the very centre of the city, about 300 meters to walk from the trainstation, 100 meters from the famous "Kapell-bridge".
Unique Quality: From November till end of february they have lower rates, around 46 euros for the single room

Sleep with history, comfort and eccentricity
Upon arriving, we did not have a place to stay, so hit the information booths to try to find an economic yet comfortable place to stay. The place that we wound up staying at was called the Lowengraben Jail Hotel. The hotel was formerly a prison until 1998 and then cleaned up to become a hotel. There's a trendy bar on the ground floor, and the cells are upstairs. Completely bare, just like the days of old, the rooms have bunk beds, locked doors and grills over the windows.

This is a former jail converted into a hotel with bar and restaurant. There are 3 accomodation levels: basic, upgrade and top. The cells have 2 to 8 beds and prices vary from hostel to hotel standard depending of how the rooms are fitted and whether the toilet showers are in the room or on the corridor. Prices vary in low and high season.
