More about Kastanienbaum Swiss Quality Seehotel Lucerne

Walk along the lake from KKL towards Kastanienbaum

by yumyum

My favourite walk starts from behind KKL to the yacht port. You walk through a park which doubles as a beach in summer. You can actually walk much further than the yacht port. For those who have enough of tourist sights.

Lucerne Kastanienbaum

"Kastanienbaum"

Kastanienbaum is the suburb of the rich society in Lucerne. A bit outside the city, where you will find this relaxing place. It´s situated on a little bay inside the Vierwaldtstätter See, with a great view over the lake, the Bürgenstock and the Pilatus!

On the pic you can see the "little" mountain "Buergenstock", and in the background is the Rigi, another famous mountain of this region!

"My friend"

My friend was lucky to work here in the summer of 2000! You can get jealous about that!

"Pilatus"

The Pilatus is the next big mountain near Lucerne. A cableway can bring you up, but it costs around 56 CHF...

Simply Gorgeous

"I developed my love for roses here"

I lived in Lucerne for a almost 6 months since I was there to do my Post-Graduation in Hospitality Management in International School of Hospitality Management. My school was located in Kastanienbaum, 20 drive from Lucerne Bahnoff(train station in Swiss German). There is no better word than "Paradise" to describe this whole canton. I arrived in the peak of summer which is July and hence the weather was also at its best. The whole city was landscaped with beautiful roses, and tulips. The icing on the cake was the cleanliness in every corner of the city.

At the moment ther is no cable car or train taking you up to the top of Pilatus. In addition the restaurants are closed. You can go up to Krienseregg - Fräkmüntegg. The top part is under construction.

Travel Tips for Lucerne

Lucerne Tip

by rtschneider

When we first arrived, I had my picture taken next to a fountain. As I kept finding more fountains I'd have my picture taken with those as well. What I quickly found out was that there are A LOT of fountains in Lucerne and I have A LOT of pictures of myself next to them!

cruise around the beautiful...

by Krystynn

cruise around the beautiful lake. Yes, Lake Lucerne, also known as the Vierwaldstättersee is indeed one of the most beautiful lakes in Switzerland! It definitely ranks as one of the most spectacular... with mountains on ALL sides!! So, enjoy the cruise, my dear fellow travelers, as the boat/ steamer zigzags across the sparkling waters of Lake Lucerne. Oh, and don't forget your camera.
