The Walking tour is shown in red
The Pedestrian Zone is shown in yellow
The Star sights :

- The Wasserturm #36
- The Jesuitenkirche #59
- The Water spikes #34
- The Spreuerbrucke #35
- The Musegg Wall #17-25
- The Old City Squares #31-33
- The Rathaus #30
- The Hofkirche #9
- The Lowendenkmal (the Lion Monument) #14
You can find a complete description of all star sights landmark in the « must see activities ». The Walking tour takes about 3 hours. I suggest you to start early in the morning (like us) to avoid been push around by the other tourists. And doing that in the morning can free you up some time to do the Mt. Pilatus excursion...
My reflexion...
« We start at 8:00 in the morning and it was like we were the only tourists on the street...and we did have the time to take some pictures...»
Also get out of the city go on...
by bianchis
Also get out of the city go on a boat ride or up to the different mountains around.
Useful internet site:
http://www.lakeluzern.ch/englisch/englisch.htm On a clear day from Fuerigen you would be able to see the Buergenstock which is hidden behind the clouds. The clouds eventually lifted and because it had rained the top being over 2000 meters was covered with snow in May.

A boat trip on the lake
by Bjorgvin
If you have time enough, you should by all means enjoy a relaxing boat trip on the lake. There are many boat services in the centre near the railway station, connected with various mountain railways and cableways. Another rewarding experience would be a trip to the top of Mt. Pilatus southwest of Luzern. The peak is more than 2121m high, and the cable car railway is the world´s steepest. But there are other ways to get up there (from Kriens).
Luzerner Fasnacht - a different kind of Carneval
by globetrott
Luzerner Fasnacht starts at 5.00a.m. with a giant clash and small and large groups of people in strange masks are parading through the city playing their own kind of music, in fact its mostly just making noise with all sorts of instruments that makes a constant melody, although they are all trying to play something different.
The Fasnacht always starts at Schmutziger Donnerstag - Carnival Thursday - Jeudi gras - Giovedì grasso, that is the thursday before the mardi-gras
