Almost like staying with your mother
Maria's house is a reasonable place to stay in Luzern. You won't get five-star amenities, but you'll be taken in like family and have a comfortable place to sleep during your trip to Switzerland. We stayed for two nights here in early May in one of the larger rooms that had one double and one twin bed. The room had a sink and shower, but the WC is in the hall. It was very clean (as is most any WC in Switzerland and Germany), so not a problem unless you have a really bad issue with sharing a toilet. Although the beds didn't look comfortable at first glance, I believe they were memory foam, because I slept very well and woke up feeling very rested. Maria sells tickets to lots of things around (keep in mind she will just add it to your bill). Breakfast is standard -- good, but not a huge spread. There is a drink machine on the landing that has coke, beer, and some other things in it, but if you want a snack while there, remember to pick something up in town before the shops close. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and, like everyone says, Maria is a very cordial person!
