Hotel Schwanen: a central affordable hotel
Hotel Schwanen is a good option to sleep in town, it's central but not on a noisy street. A double room, including breakfast, costs 140 Swiss francs - which by Swiss standards is a very correct price. The building is quite traditional in its architecture.
All rooms were renovated at the beginning of 2006 - they are not luxurious, but they are bright and clean. Not too spacious, unfortunately. There is public parking near the hotel and an italian restaurant on the premises.

Sankt-Gallen Youth Hostel: Youth Hostel
What can I say, this youth hostel was renovated since month ago. This is a great place if you like the young ambiance. It is still a good walk from the rail station (25 minutes) you just have to folllow the road sign.
A little negative point, we ask for our breakfast in a box since we were leaving early and even if the reception guy told us there will be one there was none...I was ungry on the train ride to Sankt-Moritz.
The sell beer and wine!!!
TV/reading room with library
Large grassed play and sports area with table tennis
Guests’ washing machine and tumbledryer

The Dom is quite modern with terrific balconies with outside chairs and tables. Each room is decorated with original modern art which is abstract and colorful. The rooms are large and comfy.
