Slightly overrated hotel in Schaffhausen

Their website is quite impressive, but Kronenhof is just a regular 3-star hotel.
It is centrally located - next to St. Johann's Church, about 20 minutes walk to Munot Castle.
Rooms, staff and breakfast are just normal.
Important: church bells are ringing every 15 minutes, so it is very unlikely that you will sleep well at night.

Comfortable and Centrally located in Schaffhausen

The Hotel Kronenhof is centrally-located, reasonably-priced and very, very comfortable. You will be only a couple of blocks away from the main shopping square at Frogplatz. The Munot, overlooking the city, is only a 5-10 walk to the top. (In fact, the best place to park your rental car is up at the Munot) Like any 3-starish type Swiss hotel, this place is clean, organized and comfortable. In Switzerland, these qualities are not really unique. But, you'll enjoy staying here. And, as I've mentioned in other parts of my travel page(s), you'll find Schaffhausen to be an undiscovered gem in northeastern Switzerland.

The Doctor`s House in Pontresina

This big house in Pontresina is a very good excample for a typical house of the Engadin & Graubuenden. In my 2nd photo you will see the part of the house that was used in order to store wheat and other agricultural products in former centuries and now the former openings are covered by wood.
My favorite detail of this building is the eagle that holds the street-lantern (my 3rd and 5th photo). You will find this great building opposite of Hotel Kronenhof in the citycentre of Pontresina.
