The Hotel Coronado is located about 10-12 minutes ride with the tram from the Zürich city center. Me and my friends went there as we were on our way to Liechtenstein to see Liechtenstein-Sweden in a Euro 2008-qualifier.
We had a triple room, which wasn't the biggest ever, but definately bigger than other rooms I've seen (specially in Italy and England), with a minibar, small tv and a quite big bathroom.
The service and the welcome from the staff were okay. Nothing special, but we felt well treated. Breakfast was very good, and included in the price. One of the best hotel breakfasts I've had in Europe.
The location is a bit outside the real center, but I never felt it was that far. 75 meters from the hotel there is a tram station, with three different lines taking you directly in to the train station.
Close to the hotel are also 3-4 restaurants, plus the one at the hotel, so one really doesn't have to go into the center in the evenings.
The worst thing happened during our last night in Zürich, as the street workers thought it was a bright idea to build a new street at midnight. And then continue to do so until 5am... Didn't get one second of sleep until then, and then we had to get up two hours later to go to the airport... Leave a Comment
