International 4star standard

This quite new hotel in Zürich-Oerlikon caught my attention because they offered a good deal for weekend stays: pay two nights, stay three. I booked through a German travel agency.

I enjoyed my stay very much. The hotel is spotless clean, has a lobby, bar, restaurant, a business corner with internet access (30 minutes free, then CHF 7 per 30 minutes). The gym was ok. Staff was friendly and very helpful.

My room was pretty large, had A/C, a king-size bed which was very comfortable, coffee/tea making facility, a fridge, flat screen TV with lots of international channels. The bathroom was large with tub, a good supply of soap, shower gel etc.

The breakfast was quite good. It was included in my rate, if not you can choose between continental and American breakfast (the latter includes the cooked dishes like scrambled eggs, bacon/ham etc.). You get anything you expect in a Swiss hotel from Bircher müesli, yummy cheese and meat to fresh fruit, dark bread and croissants. Freshly squeezed OJ was unfortunately extra but prosecco was included, which I found to be odd.

Location: in Oerlikon, a suburb that seems to undergo major development - lots of new buildings (offices, housing, hotel(s), shops). Very convenient to public transportation - bus stop in front of the door, only four minutes walk to the train station from where trains run almost every other minute to downtown and also frequently to the airport. The downside is that a noisy street runs in front of the hotel (but the windows are soundproof). Grocery COOP across the street.
