Swiss cows
I saw quite a few Swiss cows on the way from St. Gallen to Bern and to Zurich. But I couldn't take pictures of them. So I took this one from a restaurant in Zurich. I think it looks quite "sullen", hehehheh Seeing the lakes, of courses

Dear All,
My friends and I will be visiting Zurich for a week in June and we intend to visit some places in the Zurich Region such as Kyburg, Rapperswill and Uetilberg. We would also like to visit Appenzell, Luzern, Basel and Baar.
We will be using public transport, most especially trains. Can anyone suggest which train tickets are best and most economical, cause in website we can see there are alot of options and offers, but cannot figure out which is best option.
Thanks alot for your help.
I can certainly recommend the Swiss Flexi Pass from personl experience. If you are going to do a lot of train travel, especially. The Pass will also get you some good discounts on the expensive private trains that go up to the mountains. It will also get you free entrance into just about every museum in Switzerland. If you are really going to visit all the places you have mentioned, this would be a good option. Normally I don't like rail passes as I had a less than happy experience with a Eurail Pass on one trip to Europe. The Swiss Pass however, is nothing like a Eurail Pass and many people recommend it highly.
If I did want to get a swiss pass do I buy it once I get to switzerland or before I leave? I live in australia
You can do it either way. To get it in advance go to the SBB website. All the details are given there.

The Lake of Z?rich is situated in northern Switzerland; some characteristics :
- crescent shaped
- 40 km length
- maximum width : 4 km
- total area : 88 sq. km
- maximum depth : 143 m
- height above sea level : 408 m
The Linth River flows into the lake at its southeastern end; the Limmat River, at the northeastern end, is its outlet.
This convenient resource is available throughout the city as well as in the Main Station (Zurich HB). They are combination telephone / Email stations. This is an open stand but others were in enclosed glass booths that actually played music when you opened them. Nice!
The cost to send an Email was 1/2 CHF per message. This was a very effective means of communicating with others due to the time difference. If something happened that I wanted to share, I could just send off a mail rather than risk forgetting when I actually called at the end of my day. Very handy!
Travel with a hiking ruck sack if you can so that you don't have to wheel a case up high hills. Once you are aware that Zurich is full of steep hills, you'll see that it makes sense to pack lightly and carry most of the weight on your back. In winter wear thermal under garments, it gets very chilly and snows at night. Forget high heeled shoes, it's just not the place for fancy footwear. Trekking shoes can be useful when you need to climb yet another hill. Also if it snoww, boots that keep out the frost and are waterproof are very useful. There are so many pharmacies in Zurich that you could find anything you want, unless it's somethiing specific, in that case bring it with you. A digital camera is a must for all the amazing views you will want to capture.
If you want to have fun in Zuerich - go to Alpamare - a great swimming complex on the open air. I spent there a whole day - and it was really cool!
First of all I weent to the unique Iodine brine pool– uniquely relaxing. This thermal water is 36 ° C.If you want to relax have problems with damaged discs or suffer from rheumatism this thermal spa will surprise you to the best. Inside the pool effective massage and whirlpool facilities are installed.
This outdoor pool is guaranteed with a water temperature of 30 ° C (and is open in winter too as all other attractions). If there is snow it is a fantastic feeling being in the warm water of the outdoor pools. The Alpa-Therme also provides a Jacuzzi and a very cold water pool for those who are looking for the thrill of cold water.
The Rio Mare Pool is an outdoor river pool lets you drift smoothly or rapidly – depending on the actual current. And you can let yourself drift downstream for 100 m. And for a change, try to swim against the current. Inside the Rio Mare Pool you’ll find effective and relaxing Jacuzzi too.
In the indoor wave pool with a water temperature of 30 ° C and waves 1 m high you get a feeling of being on holiday by the sea. And you can have the surf in an exotic surrounding all year. As soon as it gets dark a striking virtual thunderstorm with lightning and thunder and rain falling from the ceiling adds an additional adventure.
But most of all I like lots of slides there with light and water effects which give you a crazy feeling!!!
