Hotel Continental Zurich, Zürich, Switzerland - Reviews and Hotel Information

We stayed at the Sofitel in January 2008. Although the external appearance of the hotel is unimpressive, the interior is much better. This was a lovely unpretentious country style hotel with all facilities required including parking. We had 2 rooms, a king and a twin room. The rooms were spacious and the king room had a nice flat screen TV. The hotel was unable to provide us with interconnecting rooms however. We booked through the hotel website and the price of the rooms were reasonable. However, I thought that the late checkout rate was pricey CHF 150 per room. The service was good and most of the staff spoke English. A problem we encountered though was that room service was unable to provide a proper meal outside of the restaurant opening hours, which can mean a bit of a wait. However, the little box of complimentary chocolates was lovely

The location of this hotel was great. Only a short strol to the old city section, the train station and the main shopping area (5-10 mins walking max) Close to the river and the trams.
