Arriving Zurich
by Erkmen
Zurich airport is just 10-15 min outside of Zurich... When you are arriving by plane you will start seeing the nice small swiss houses... And in between forests you will land to zurich airport..
Zurich airport has three terminals.. The terminal A & B are to the center of the airport and the terminal E is a bit distance from the airport center..
If your flight is also landing to terminal E, like mine, than you shall keep on mind the followings.. The Teminal E is far from the Main terminal, so when you get out from the plane, you will follow the steps down and see a one way metro line.. Without hesitating just get on the metro... It will carry you to the main terminal, where you will have the pass control and Baggage claim.. When you reach the main terminal by metro, just go up and there you will have the pass control splitted in to two.. First is the EU, Swiss and Nefta Nationalities and the second is others..
Bahnhof strasse 2
by Erkmen
We keep on walking on the Bahnhof street.. The street is 1,4 km long and the start is the main station and the other end is the Lake Zurich..
So I thought it is nice to stroll till the end.. While walking on the street, we have passed the "Stadt Amts hauser".. And behind the passage you can see the Prediger Church, which is on the old section of the city..
Heissi Marroni (hot chesnuts)
by yumyum
Hot chesnuts are a very popular snack in the winter half year. Young and old like eating them. There are hot chesnut kiosks all over the city (green little houses) where you can buy the goodies which come in a paper bag. If it's cold, they are also good to warm your hands. They grow them in the south of Switzerland in the Ticino. But I think we eat that many, so that we also have to import some from Italy. Current price (2006) for 150 gramms is CHF 4.20.
When you peel them always break them apart, so that you can see whether they are ok, because occasionally they are worm ridden which you recognize seeing lots of brown dots in one part. Sometimes you can still eat part of the chesnut.

Werdenberg museum

This is Switzerland's oldest settlement of wooden buildings. Werdenberg was first mentioned in 1289 as a fortified town with the rare privilege of holding its own markets. The history of this little town is closely linked with castle of the same name.
