The hotel has been in existence for over 650 years. It is a perfect blend of friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. A big plus is the beautiful location!
Unique Quality: It is the only hotel sited on the River Limmat!
My girlfriend and I will be in Zurich for 4.5 hours prior to boarding a flight home to Australia. We were wondering if we can leave our suit cases in lockers anywhere between the main Train Station in Zurich and the airport so we could have a look around the city. What is the distance between the main train station and the airport and could we see much of the city in that time. If there was 1 or 2 things that you could suggest we do or see in the given time period, it would be very much appreciated.
There are lockers at the airport. There's a sort of bridge connecting the terminal to the train and shopping center areas where you can leave your luggage. Used to be to the left ed as you leave the "bridge". The train takes about 15 minutes to the main station. As you leave the staition by the main hall, you are bt the river. Both sides are a nice stroll for the few hours you have. Cross the brigde, stroll by Niederdorfstrasse up to Rindemarkt and church Grossmuenster, descend to to river again, cross the bridge and walk along the Limmat alleys up to Hotel Zum Storchen and up the streets to Bahnhofstrasse, the fancy and expesive avenue that leads you back to the station.
The previous answer is also what I would recommend, but I read it in a way that suggests you are arriving by train in Zürich. Therefore, leave your bags in the lockers at Zurich station, and then go for your walk.
Train to airport only takes about 20 minutes, but check the departure times ahead of schedule. Never good to be late.
