Thirsty?
by german_eagle
One of the little things that make a stay (or living!) in Zürich so enjoyable is that there are these little bubblers (fountains?) all over the city that provide drinking water. For free, of course. I noticed locals as well as tourists filling bottles or just drinking a bit of the water.
My friend Sonja confirmed that she often notices guys cleaning these bubblers in the mornings when she goes to work. And indeed, as far as I could see these bubblers are spotless clean. Getting this water for free can save you a lot of money. And of course it is very nice that they are really to find all over the city - if you get thirsty there's almost always one in short distance.
Zürich Zoo

.
Zürich zoo is home to around 2000 animals from all over the world: in the new cloud forest you can see several species of South American bears, whilst in the monkey house you will come face to face with gibbons, orang-utan, gorillas and chimpanzees.
Don't forget Siberian Tigers (better do not feed them :-).

SCHWEIZERISCHES LANDESMUSEUM (Swiss National Museum). It is conveniently located next to Hauptbahnhof (the main station). Its collection contains works of religious art (frescoes, altarpieces etc.). There is a large display of Roman clothing, medieval silverware, furniture, costumes, dollhouses of various periods, and Swiss clocks.
Watch a Soccer Game
by Carino
There are two teams in Zurich, which are currently playing in the highest soccer league:
GC is playing in the Hardturm Stadium and FC Zurich is playing at the Letzigrund Stadium. You can check out the schedule on gcz.ch and fcz.ch. Season is from Juli until November and from February until May. Try to get a ticket for one of those games:
GC - FC Basel
GC - FCZ or FCZ - GC
FCZ - FC Basel
FCZ - FC Aarau
Those games are usually very good!
Hermann Haller's workshop

If you come to Zürich in the summer months (July-October) you might be able to visit the workshop of the Swiss sculptor Hermann Haller.
At other times of year you can take a peek through the window, as I did, and see one of two of his sculptures.
Hermann Haller was born in Bern in 1880. Towards the end of his life he lived and worked in Zürich, where he died in 1950. Haller was a close friend of the painter Paul Klee, who was also from Bern.
Another of Hermann Haller's friends was the author Hermann Hesse (1877-1962), who borrowed the sculptor's name for Harry Haller, the protagonist of his novel Der Steppenwolf, which was first published in 1927.
