Hotel Opera: Hotel for Opera Lovers

The hotel is centrally located, just behind the Opera House and close to Central train station and Bellevue along the lake. It's great for business in town and/or city tourism. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The internet connection was very weak and drove me not disconnection very frequently and not loading. The Ambassador at the Opera Hotel across the street is run by the same management and is where the restaurant which is called the Opera Restaurant is located.

Alpentraum B&B Zurich: Best B&B in Zurich

I wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting Zurich. Alpentraum B&B was a fantastic choice. It is in between the Airport and Zurich, has a lovely garden setting, the bed was comfortable, public transport is close by, it is inexpensive and the hosts are attentative and helpful.

I would not stay anywhere else when visiting Zurich.

Route 39: ROUTE 39 - A modern and comfortable B&B in Zurich

B&B - very nice, modern and spacious room with private bath with a rainforest shower, I-pod-dock, digital tv where you can look at your photographs and a balcony with the view of the snow covered alps (the name of the B&B is Route 39, the owners speak fluent English and German, website: http://www.route39.ch/) SFrs. 135.00 double, which is about €103.00. There are also two rooms with a shared bathroom, one has a balcony.
Breakfast on the top floor with a terrace overlooking the alps: everything is left there for you to prepare your self: seriously good coffee, homemade Swiss bread 'Zopf' with butter and jam and eggs (which you can prepare yourself in the electric egg boiler provided , ham and cheese, cereals, fruit juice and yoghurt.
The owners are multilingual and very helpful with suggestions for dining out or sightseeing.

Great view of the alps, the weather was glorious throughout our stay. Ultra modern bath room with a rain forest shower! I-pod dock in each room. Very comfortable beds. Digital TV, you can insert your memory card from your camera to view your photographs on the TV screen!
The Breakfast Lounge on the top floor is accessible at any time, there is a sofa where you can sit and enjoy the view and a fridge with an honor bar (soft drinks and white or red wine) and snacks like chocolate bars or potato chips/crisps.
20 minutes by public transport brings you straight to the centre of Zurich City.

The Easyhotel: A Shoebox of a Hotel in the heart of Zurich

The Easyhotel was even more basic than the Etap. I stayed here by accident for 4 nights. I did not intend to stay in Zurich for four extra night but do to poor planning on my part, I had nowhere else to stay in both Bern and Basel and decided to use Zurich as a base to see both cities. Not a bad idea really as they are but one hour away by train.

There is nothing obvious that I can recommend about the Easyhotel. It is very basic in that there is hardly any furniture in you room. There is not even a chambermaid to make your bed and clean your room. In fact the street noise was loud especially on Saturday night. About the only "decent" thing is cable TV.

Zum Guten Glück: Neat and cozy

Zum Guten Glück is a guesthouse on the top of a small café in central Zürich. The rooms were sparse with just a bed and a shelf, but they were clean and comfortable and not cramped. There is a shared bathroom on the floor, as well as a separate room with a shower. There is free wireless internet. This is a good place to stay if you don’t need anything fancy but still want to feel comfortable, without being far from transit and the city centre. Breakfast is not included, but there are croissants and coffee at the café downstairs, among other things.

We paid 118 Euro for one night.

basic hotel service: Hotel Welcome Inn--Klotten

I've been here three diffrent times, it was always nice. The hotel was clean, quiet, and close to the Zurich Airport. Also, a train that leads to downtown Zurich is not far away (2-3 minute walking) either. This train will lead to the middle of Downtown Zurich and let you off right near a cool old castle. Overall, Hotel Welcome Inn is somewhat cheap, friendly staff (speak english too) and convienent for the one night stay people who'd like to see Zurich or surronding area of Klotten. Hope this helps, JOHN

Resturant in hotel. Possibly a bar??

Martahaus: Martahaus - cheap, quality accomodation

I stayed a the Martahaus for 1 week when i was in Zurich.

http://www.martahaus.ch/

The hotel is on Zahringerstrasse in the old town. This is a great little spot close to reasonably priced cafes/bars and decent shopping. The river is 1 minute from the front door and the main station about 5 minute walk. A friend of mine from zurich said this area used to be a bit dodgy but has cleaned up over the last few years. The hotel is very close to the museums and ETH university and 5 minutes walk to Bahnoffstrasse the main and mostly expensive shopping street.

I had a single room with a double bed and wash basin and share bathroom for 455 swiss francs for the week - very cheap. For one night the same room would have cost 85 francs. The hotel also has dorms and rooms with ensuite depending on your budget. All the facilities are very clean, the staff are fantastic and the breakfast is included and of good value. Only problem was that the rooms didn't have aircon during summer, but you get used to this for the prices.

Turmhotel Top Zurzach: ****Turmhotel Victoria Davos

This is the entrance to the hotel, it may be really difficult to read the notices, except you do a close up. This would give you an insight into the activities of the hotel and what they offer.

Enjoy the 2 restaurants, bars, fitness and wellness centre as well as beauty farms, massage and natural therapy centre. I got the highest standard of Swiss hospitality.
