Sunstar Parkhotel Davos: Sunstars****

The breakfast was good, but I must say that I did not have the luxury of enjoying the breakfast because of my morning tight schedule.. I promise to go back soon when I will be more relaxed. Thats a promise!

Sunstar Parkhotel Davos: Sunstars****

There are various gift items arranged in your room as you entered. This particulat gift is a most beautiful Russian Winter cap I have ever seen. Inscribed on it is "Davos 2005..Russian Night".. other gift items include the chicest Swiss Chocolate boxes, Unbrellas..etc, etc.

Sunstar Parkhotel Davos: Sunstars****

It was a great feeling when in the morning I woke to see this view through my window..I have not seen so much whitness in a while.

It is good to know that the famous Jakobshorn and the Schatzalp cable stations is within a few minutes stroll from here.

Sunstar Parkhotel Davos: Sunstars****

This is the entrance and the reception lobby of the hotel, we arrived the hotel at a very odd hour, about one in the morning....but because of the World Economic Forum that was ongoing at this time, the staff were all at their desks.

Sunstar Parkhotel Davos: Elegant Sunstars

This is a four stars hotel located in a perfect settings within its own private park, yet still very close to the centre of the town and also to the Sunstar Family hotel. These are three stars.

Luxury, all that you want is here. Very exciting place to spend honey moon.

SYHA Youth Hostel: SYHA Youth Hostel

The hostel is definately one of the more affordable options in town. It resembles a mental institution from the outside but the staff is friendly. My brother and I found the travellers very friendly and easy to get to know.

Breakfast buffet available from 6am.

Switzerland: General Accomodation

Accommodation in Switzerland in general is extremely expensive and can cost as much as £150 per night, per person, that is for a basic two star hotel. The best advice for Switzerland is take a tent, stop with friends or drive 50 miles north over the border into Germany and stay in Munich.
Should you decide to stay in Switzerland in a hotel however, you will find that the accommodation around Lake Zurich is endless in choice and all are clean and friendly. Every little village and town along either side of Lake Zurich has its own charm and own set of hotels to offer. During the summer season, you will find that the prices escalate dramatically.

Ermitage Am See - Zurich: A Little Treasure by the Lake

The Ermitage Am See is a stunning hotel situated on the lake in Zurich. It is sumptuously furnished and every room is cosy yet light and airy.

We were fortunate enough to procure rooms with a balcony overlooking the lake. There are only a few so I would advise booking early to avoid disappointment.

We enjoyed sunbathing by the lake whilst the boys braved the cold but clear and fresh water, after which we showered, changed, and got ready for dinner in the restaurant. We met for cocktails at the little cabana for pre dinner drinks and watched the sun dip behind the mountains before we took our table for dinner.

The restaurant is not cheap but the food and wine were first class as was the service. If you have a special occasion to celebrate or wish to spoil yourself this is without a doubt the hotel to choose!

The Hotel Ermitage am See is located near Zurich, in the heart of a picturesque landscape of lakes and forests, the Ermitage offers you the charm of its comfortable rooms with a spectacular view on the lake. Between two strolls through the vineyards, enjoy a romantic candlelit dinner savoring a subtle and refined cuisine served with the excellent regional wines. Visit an unusual site: the Fraumunster church with its stained glass windows by Chagall.
Obviously, the original owner of this lovely spot knew to enjoy life, or his vintner's house would not have been built right on the shore of the lake of Zurich. From this a hotel with the melodious name originated in the fifties. Love for detail shapes the ambience of the Hotel. Guest rooms and living quarters radiate coziness, with just the right touch of luxury, with minibar, cosmetic bar, and bathroom amenities. Enjoy the life in the Ermitage at the lake, just as its first owner did 300 years ago. The Hotel Ermitage, with its own boat dock and sufficient parking, is easily reached by car or by means of public transportation.

Golden Arches: Modern and Efficient

I stayed here while I attended BaselWorld.

The Golden Arches hotel will pick you up at the airport and also return you there everyday. Just ask them for the times.

The Zurich airport is connected to the SBB train, so this is perfect for getting around to your meetings or tradeshow.

This is a very economical hotel costing around 100 Euros for 2 persons.

It is next door to a McDonald's restaurant, but you don't have to eat there.

It is the best place to stay when you won't be in your room until late night and then only to sleep.

Haus Zum Kindli (Hotel Kindli): Haus Zum Kindli (Hotel Kindli)

Hotel Kindli is a small hotel tucked back in the narrow streets of Zurich near the international financial district and Banhoff Strasse. Although the rooms are fairly small, they are nicely decorated and, perhaps most importantly in any city, they are quiet (even the ones overlooking the street).

Katrins Place: Know someone........

It´s good to know someone here, even when the parking still is a problem here in Zürich. Visitors have to pay the high prices normally....

Nice staff, great breakfasts and the 9am train to Rapperswil........

MARTAHAUS HOSTEL

This hostel is centrally located in the old town area and is only a short walk away over the River Limmat from the train station. There are different types of rooms with daily/weekly/monthly rates as well as studios. I chose the dormitory for 38 francs (see the photo) which has separately curtained off sleeping areas which mean some privacy. Each area had a bed, lockable cupboard, chair and towel rack with towel. My room opened up to a balcony overlooking the street. There was a common room with internet and sofas and a bar downstairs. The staff were friendly and continental breakfast was included.

As I have mentioned before, I have stayed to a very nice and hospitalier friend in Fraunfeld, a pretty small town situated at 120 km far from Zurich.
As per our latest discussions, he really enjoyed to be my guide and he is available for any other nice girl eager to visit Zurich, Fraunfeld, Konstantz or Winterthur:)

We stayed at the **** Hotel...

We stayed at the **** Hotel Schweizerhof, across from the main Train Station (Hauptbahnhof). We found this a perfect base for exploring the city. The staff were friendly and well informed and the rooms were more than comfortable.

Good location with friendly, well informed staff.
