Good Hotel

The Marriott Zurich is your typical Marriott hotel. The bedrooms were nice, good comfortable beds with nice linens. Better than most European hotels. The bathroom was clean, could use some updating. The staff was excellent making good restaurant recommendations and overall were very informative and knowledgable about the area. The hotel is in an ok location at the end of the tourist area. The walk is not bad, 10-15 minutes to train station and restaurant areas & shops. The only down side was the food service. If breakfast is not included in your rate it is VERY EXPENSIVE and not worth it, 34 Swiss Francs for a buffet breakfast with nothing outstanding offered. The dinner was ok but took hours. Asked for bread 3 times since we were so hungry waiting for the dinner....never got it and the waitress was kind of rude. Thre were 4 of us dining, two meals came out together, we finished eating and the other two meals did not arrive for another 20 minutes. Wouldn't really recommend eating at the hotel if you can help it. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay, would stay there again.
Prime location and excellent service

We celebrated the last days of December and New Year's Eve at Marriott.
The hotel is located 10 minutes' walk from Bahnhofstrasse and fine shopping possibilities.
The service level provided by the front desk staff and the concierge before and during our stay was particularly noteworthy,
and the New Year's Eve festivities offered excellent dining and entertainment.
We stayed in a bi-level suite with great views of the lake/city, and sauna and jacuzzi.
Valet parking and room service worked smoothly.
All in all, a hotel worth revisiting if you want to explore the city and surrounding regions.
Standard Marriott + Nice view over the city

Stayed one night in Dec, 2005. Location is quite Ok, although bit aside and you will have to walk about 500-700m till the city center (station/old city). Got a standard room - Marriott classical, but realy nothing special and feels bit dated.. Room isn't big too and no any "hidden gems" in design/equipment. Seems refresh is a must within next few years. Nice lobbie - very pompous, but a lot of space and airy. Very quick & efficient check-in and check-out. Nice, responsive and quick service in the bar, food also was very tasty.
An excellent breakfast - wasn't included in my rate, so had to buy it additionally, but was worth to - definitely above the average Marriott breakfasts! Another very good point - view over the city, superior! Be sure to ask the room with city view.
Overall conclusion - good, just good, but not amazing. Classical value - you can't be wrong, if looking for that. As for me, would easily stay again if any, but also would take a look around for some others..
Marriott in Zurich ???

Yeah, it's obviously a Marriott. But it was very nice. Good location. Attentive staff. Great breakfast. Well located. Bar overpriced. At about $200 per night with a AAA rate or something, well worth the money.
Nothing special and pricey, too

Best things about this hotel:
(1) The city view is awesome, especially in the snow so the higher your room, the better.
(2) The espresso machine in the lobby is free and ready 24/7 with better than Starbucks, strong coffee. Delicious!
(3) The spa and indoor pool are groovy -- the pool also has a city view and, in the snow, there is nothing like sitting in a hot tub and watching the snow fall lightly. I got a massage which was very European and wonderful.
Otherwise, the other posts are dead-on. Very basic. Needs updating. Very quiet. Some of the staff can be snotty. Breakfast is great but not cheap -- walk up to the train station or the Coop and pay a fraction.
Expect to walk a bit before you get to anything -- you can see the city, but you are not in its center at the Marriott.

Hi Audrey!Marriott Zürich would be the best choice,it's centrally located.Although Courtyard is also very accessible to the city.Renaissance is near the airport,it's actually off the city.
Happy travels!
