More about Radisson Blu Hotel, Zurich Airport
Modern and Efficient
by thinking about Golden Arches
I stayed here while I attended BaselWorld.
The Golden Arches hotel will pick you up at the airport and also return you there everyday. Just ask them for the times.
The Zurich airport is connected to the SBB train, so this is perfect for getting around to your meetings or tradeshow. This is a very economical hotel costing around 100 Euros for 2 persons.
It is next door to a McDonald's restaurant, but you don't have to eat there.
It is the best place to stay when you won't be in your room until late night and then only to sleep.
Hotel Welcome Inn--Klotten
by Fang77 about basic hotel service
I've been here three diffrent times, it was always nice. The hotel was clean, quiet, and close to the Zurich Airport. Also, a train that leads to downtown Zurich is not far away (2-3 minute walking) either. This train will lead to the middle of Downtown Zurich and let you off right near a cool old castle. Overall, Hotel Welcome Inn is somewhat cheap, friendly staff (speak english too) and convienent for the one night stay people who'd like to see Zurich or surronding area of Klotten. Hope this helps, JOHN Resturant in hotel. Possibly a bar??

Shopping in Zurich Airport
by Toyin
This picture was taken at the Zurich Airport on arrival. I did a lot of shopping here for friends and this is where I posted numerous cards that I send to friends on VT.
There are almost few things that you wont get to buy here except Cars and Houses of course.
Zurich Airport

Zurich is very well connected to the world with a lot of airlines operating at Zurich airport. Swiss (who have recently been aquired by Lufthansa) has their main hub in Zurich from where the operate flights all over the world. It is a specifically important airport for flights from Europe to Africa where Swiss has a strong presence.
The low fare carriers Air Berlin and Flyniki also operate many flights from Zurich to different cities in Europe.

What is a good meeting point at Zurich airport/railroad station - we will be arriving to different terminals & going to railway station Is there info/tourist office at the railway station at the airport?
Re: Zurich airport
by Fabiozh
I think the best meeting point would be one floor above the rail tracks. there's a small hall with some ticket counters, ticket machines and timetables. Just follow the railway signs after the baggage claim and you'll get there

At Zurich HB (main station) there is a tourist office. Also there is big area where plenty of monitors are there with on-line timetables etc.

Hi! Ida, Thanks.
May I ask you this? In your travel page, you have mentioned the dates: 25th May [Ascension day & June 5 Pentecost day] Which places remain closed on these dates? Or if the list is long tell me vice versa.
Thanks again. Bye, Ruta.

On these holidays, the shops are closed. Restaurants, museums etc. remain open. Public transport runs on the sunday schedule (which in Switzerland doesn't differ too much from the weekday schedule - a few less trips in the early morning, trams in Zürich every 10 instead of every 7 min, and that's it)

Thanks Altamiro! I wasn't online when she posted the question;)I agree with Altamiro, but those dates are moveable so it might not be bank holidays when you visit Zürich.
Getting to Zurich airport
by LawrenceLL
Hi,
What is cost effective way to get to Zurich airport from the city?
Thanks
Lawrence
Re: Getting to Zurich airport
by pumpkinmuffin1
I'm sure there's a tram line to the airport that shouldn't be more then 10 francs. Check the tram maps at every ticket kiosk or go to the tourist office in Zurich.

Re: Re: Getting to Zurich airport
by GK2005
One word.....TRAIN.
Trains run to the airport very frequenty from the Zurich Central Station right in the heart of the city of Zurich.
Re: Getting to Zurich airport
by JOHNWILLIAMS
Lawrence, take the train from the heart of Zurich to the airport. Travel time is no more than 10 minutes. Off the train and up an escalator, and you are in the airport.
John.
