Elegant Oriental Style hotel

Actually I won the vouchers for this 5 stars-hotel and I was so satisfied of my stay there, the rooms are so big and clean, the staff is young and friendly, and the breakfast is just EXCELLENT!!
Basically for breakfast there is an AMerican buffet and you just have such variety of choice...

Unique Quality: A nice clean Marriott hotel. A good fitness centre, swimming pool and Jaccuzi though attendants in fitness centre are few and far in between. About 20 minutes by tram to the centre of Zurich

10 mins from the Airport

A 5-star hotel, but like most of European hotels, internet connection is not free and readly available in the room.
I really dont understand why luxury hotels demanding more than 100 euros a night are so stingy. Or it has something to do with the law?

Unique Quality: Nothing really unique comparing to other 5-star hotels.... maybe the furnitures are better than Hilton's

Nice Hotel

It's a good hotel, 4 star, friendly service. Coffee tea making facilities are available in room. However, transport to Zurich downtown is provided by the hotel with a charge of CHF20 per day (unlimited ride a day).Other alternative is taking a free transfer to the airport and get a train to Zurich Hauptbanhof (Main Station) which cost just CHF2.90/2nd Class per way (with your half price card for tourist)

I lived out of the Renaissance...

I lived out of the Renaissance Zurich Hotel for 6 weeks. It is a very nice and expensive hotel (paid for my company). You can walk to the train station in Oerlikon from here to take you to downtown Zurich.

More about Renaissance Zurich Hotel

Very good hotel with sooo many Pillows!!!

by ilovenewjersey about Renaissance Zurich Hotel

The hotel is near the airport. You can take tram #10 from the Airport(aprox. 15 minutes) it stops right infront of the Hotel about 4 or 5 stops( GLATTPARK station). Use tram #11(across tram #10 Glattpark station) to go to the Old town, shopping center, main train station(Haufbanhof HB), and etc. takes you there in 20 to 30 minutes. it has less frequent stops and longer hours at night. I would get a "DAY pass" to use the tram, train, bus, to get around Zurich. Most of the tourist attractions are within the Haufbanhoff HB or main train station’s area. Avail of your daypass by hopping-in and hopping-off Trams. Go to the Old town, see the park and the lake.

Organizing 3 nights in Zurich and Geneva

by baron1970

I will be arriving in Zurich on January 4th, 9.00 am by train. So could anyone suggest me what to do next until my flight on January 7th from Geneva?
I will be staying for one night in Zurich at Renaissance Zurich Hotel and two nights at Warwick Hotel in Geneva? Any comments about the hotels? I will be travelling with my wife and 3,5 years old daughter. Any ideas for transportation from the train station to Renaissance Zurich Hotel + Zurich to Warwick hotel in Geneva? Train or car considering the weather? Nice places to eat, for shopping and for our daughter? I know I asked too much, but I appreciate your answers.

i lived not far from zurich for several years back before 1970 . i also have stopped there many times between 1970 and 1980 when i worked for the tour division of a major airline. my friends and i found it to be one of the better places in europe to shop.
try the government run or sponsored web site for tourist information.
look for link to one on switzerland here ( www.towd.com )
once at this site you may be able to find a link to a goverment run or sponsored site for zurich and geneva.
the old swiss air airlines use to have some great links on their page.
the new swiss airlines might also.
