Old wooden houses
by yumyum
In the old part of Naters you will find many old wooden houses. Some are store houses and others are still inhabited by locals. I said to Ilse and Marcel while we walked around that I find it strange that we hadn't seen any cats. And sure enough, there was one shortly afterwards sitting on a window sill.
Welcome to Naters
by yumyum
I was taken to Naters on Friday, 13th July by VTer MATIM and her husband Marcel. They were holidaying with their family in Visp, so I went to meet up with them. They had already visited this quaint town center and decided to introduce it to me, too. Thanks a lot Ilse and Marcel!
Naters is located opposite Brig on the northern side. It's basically starting across the river behind Brig railway station.
BTW, Naters is the town which over the centuries provided the highest number of Swiss guards for the popes in Rome.
Valais Canton Town

"Another Missing Town"
I do not understand why so many Swiss towns do not belong to any canton in the VT-catalog! However, Naters is a town on the Northern side of the river Rhone opposite side to Brig, and it should belong to the same canton as Brig, the Valais canton.
