I cannot vouch for these places, as I did not stay long in the town, however you may find the link useful.
Directions: Stein am Rhein
Hostel quite small and run by a nice couple. Situated about 600m along the river from the main city centre.
We booked a 4-bed room for our stay, but the manager offered us a 6-bed room for the 3 of us at no extra charge, so we accepted. The hostel rooms are what you'd expect - bunk beds with lockers and showers/toilets down the hall - except the rooms have country names instead of numbers (we were in "Finland," if I recall correctly). Sheets and towels are included and mandatory (increasingly becoming standard hostel procedure with the proliferation of bedbugs worldwide). Breakfast is included and served in the ground floor dining room. Lunch, dinner, and packed lunch are available on request at extra cost. Self-catering facilities are not available (except for an outdoor barbecue grill), however there is a common refrigerator next to the laundry room in the basement. The hostel also offers wi-fi (registration required but free), indoor and outdoor play facilities, canoe rental, a TV room, and a lounge. Overall, the hostel was clean, comfortable, family-friendly, and a good value for us.
Unique Quality: - Breakfast Included
- Wi-Fi included
- Canoe rental available
- Outdoor barbecue area and playground with Rhine views
Directions: On the north side of the river, about a 20-minute walk from the train station. A short distance from the Strandbad bus stop for DB Bus 7349 to/from Singen.
