Hotel Baren: Wilderswil"s Gem
We stayed for 2 nights in 2013 as we explored the Lauterbrunnen Valley. The hotel is authentic Swiss style. I would never stay in a concrete and glass hotel in this area. The building is old with unlevel floors but with great charictor. Very good food with a bar and dinning room.and breakfast room which was included in the price.
Owner Bernie and hotel staff were very helpful.
There's bus service just down the street which will take you too the rail station and Interlaken. Catching the train in Wilderswil is the last stop before entering the Valley. Great location.
We paid 123.00 CAD per night, which included breakfast.
I stayed here for 5 nights in 2014 as we explored the area. Service at this hotel is great. Food is very good and the free breakfast was perfect. We paid 104.00 a night CAD. Eat two suppers here. Both were awesome. Filled up at breakfast that took us for most of the day. Friendly staff. We received passes that covered busses from Interlaken to the hotel and were accepted on the train also in the local area. The bus stop is just around the corner about 100 yards.
Most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Good food and great staff. If you get a room facing the Valley, it can't be beat. Nothing bad to say about this place. Won't even try anywhere else. Hoping one more trip to this area.
