It is one of the best kept hotels of the infamous Soviet monopolist INTOURIST which was probably worlds most efficient agency to prevent tourism. But some way they succeeded to keep this hotel at a reasonable standard although rather pricey. When I was there in 1998 there was only warm water in the morning from 7 to 9, and that for a steep 78 $ according to the official price list. The quality is more or less ok (apart from the avaialbility of warm water) but it is simply to far from the center of this relatively small town.
