On The Corner: Guest House / B&B

On The Corner is a low budget B&B/ Guest House owned by Vitaly and his family just 10 minutes drive away from Central Kolomiya. The B&B has basic but very clean rooms with toilet and washing facilities on the corridor outside of the rooms. In the morning they provide breakfast and as much tea and coffee as you want.

Surprisingly for somewhere so far from a major city Vitaly speaks excellent English and is a terrific host. Once we had checked out I asked Vitaly where was the best place to buy cigarettes. Not only did he tell me where to get them but he took me in his car. He can also collect people from the train stations in the area.

We had arrived a lot later to the hotel that planned. Due to the increasingly bad roads in Ukraine we expected to be at the Guest House at midnight but did not get there until nearly 5am. They stayed up for us, a smile on their faces and shown us where everything was and shown us our rooms. I would definitely recommend this guest house to anyone staying in Kolomiya.

I stayed in the twin rooms (see photograph) the room inc breakfast cost 140 UAH (£11.00)

Big new clean rooms, excellent cooking and service, low price.

Nice place to go hiking in the mountains. The family will help you however they can and they all speak english.

B&B ''On The Corner'': Your Home Away From Home

First we had some trouble finding this place. But with help of friendy locals we succeeded, although this place has no signs pointing at it, even not a singel sign on a house itself.
We were welcomed warmly. This is a usual family house, transformed into a Bed & Breakfast. There is a common room where you can read, listen too music or talk too other guests (usuali the place is fool, we had luck to get two rooms). Downstairs is a dining room (they serve meals, if you wish) and a billiard room.
First the price was 300 grivnas for 5 of us, but we managed to reduce it to 250, breakfast included. But when we left, we paied the full price. We were so satisfied with this place, we'd feel guilty paing less.

Vitalij and his family are just too kind. They'd do anything to please their guest. Vitalij constantly ask, if everything is OK or if he can do anything more. And he is into this business not because he needs to, but he really wants to. He enjoy talking to his guests and is also a great source of information.
Vitalij also organises one or more day trips in Carpathians or rafting down the Dnister river.
