Hotel RUS
Had a very pleasant stay in the RUS Hotel and the staff were really nice there. The hotel has its own taxi fleet so getting a taxi is not a problem. The hotel does a very lovely sushi bar and 24hr bar if you need it. However the rooms are small but very comfortable.

Perfect Hotel
I would recommend the Hotel Rus to everyone that I know going to Kiev. It is clean, and beautiful. Plenty of elevators. Great food in the restaurant.
Unique Quality: The breakfast buffet in the morning is amazing. The staff is wonderful and most spoke English. They were helpful and friendly. The hotel Business Center had plenty of computers with an efficient staff.

Wonderful Hotel
This hotel was clean, beautiful and in a great location. We have stayed at Hotel Rus two times and would stay again.
Unique Quality: Wonderful, helpful staff (English speaking). The breakfast buffet in the morning was amazing.

Hotel Rus
The Hotel Rus was pleasant experience. A huge building with average/ok rooms. A good breakfast and also a nice dinner buffet(150hryvna pp). The hotel has 2 bars,one of them a sushi bar.
The best thing however is that you can walk to city center(Bessarabia square) in about 10 minutes

A nice hotel in the centre of Kiev
I have stayed in one of the 36 suites of this big 3-star-hotel (as I have heard it has more than 400 rooms!) for several days in July 2007 and I did like it a lot. Although its very old Soviet style exterior it's very nice inside (I have heard though that there are renovated and not renovated rooms, I guess I have been in a renovated one, so you better ask for such a room!), the personnel is very friendly and professional and the hotel is located is in the very centre of the city which is one of its biggest advantages. The rooms are air-conditioned and have a cable TV, fridges and personal safes. I have been told that there is Internet connection in all the rooms, but my room was on the 8th floor and it turned out that there isn't a cable internet there. Anyway, there are two business centres that you can use not for free though. There are also Wi-Fi areas in the hotel so you can check them.
There is 24-hour-exchange service in the hotel lobby and this is another advantage, because usually such places work till 8 p.m. and after that you can't change money or if you find an open one it's not with very good exchange rates.
There are several restaurants and bars inside the hotel, there is even a striptease bar with an entrance fee of $ 20 dollars per person, but I haven't visited them.
The European buffet breakfast is included in the room rate and is not bad either so you better not miss it.
The hotel has some frequent guest program - you got different frequent guest cards and discounts % plus other benefits depending on the amount of night you spend there, but you should ask the reception for detailed information on that program.
I plan to visit Kiev soon and I will stay again for sure in the Rus Hotel:)!
Unique Quality: Not bad prices for a good hotel in the very centre of the city (about 200 dollars per night per suite).

Nice, reasonable, good location
The Hotel Rus isn't the nicest place to stay in Kiev, but it is reasonable on price and has a pretty good location. The staff is very friendly and I would consider it a safe place to stay.

Close to the center
Situated on walking distance from the city center, just behind the Respublikanskyi Stadium.
Rooms are clean service is improving all the time.

Central location
The hotel Rus is an OK place to stay and is certain handy for the city centre. Hass internet access and 24 money exchange, as well as pretty good breakfast. Rooms are clean if rather spartan.

Rus located in the center of Kiev, only a footstep away from the city's famous Kreschatyk, is a preferred place for business and leisure travelers.
Unique Quality: Great views - situated on the hill in the center of Kiev - right side - spectacular view of the downtown, left side - olimpic stadium view (if u r a football fan). Special features - downtown location, restaurants, business, conference, banquet facilities, rent -a car service, beauty salon, gift and magazine shop, 24-hour room service, currency exchange etc.

If this is still expensive, I can give you a few other options, but they won't be as nice.

Last year i stay one week at the hotel Lybid. not that expansiv. Super servic, English speaking staff, walking distance to the train station and subway.
Only the taxi mafia, in the lobby is a bit of a drage.

I always stay at the Hotel Tourist and is quite acceptable for my stays in Kiev of 2 nights max.
