Best hotel for location in Kyiv
I first stayed in this hotel 7 years ago and I was impressed, I went back in May 2012 and was disappointed. The hotel seems to have gone downhill, the rooms are extremely basic BUT it was clean. The quality of the rooms did not justify the price of nearly £70 per night. I think that customers are really paying for location more than anything else. The continental breakfast was nice and the reception staff now speak English which they didn't 7 years ago. There is also a metro station practically outside of the hotel and the bus stop is to the side of the hotel.
With the hotel being in the centre of Kyiv the prices are on parr with others in the area. There are cheaper hotels in the city but much further away from the action.
Unique Quality: The hotel Kozatsky is the perfect hotel if you want something slap, bang in the centre of Kyiv but if you want something luxurious or more up market then this isn't the hotel for you.
There is a wheel chair ramp in the hotel for wheel chair access.

Perfect location at cheap price
The Hotel Kozatsky (Cossak) has the perfect location. It is actually on Independence square!! The hotel is relatively cheap but is very basic.
Offers a Bed and Breakfast type stay. Continental breakfast usually serves a variety of meat and cheese aswell as cereal and yoghurt.
Receptionists have little understanding of English but is relatively easy to check in and out. Extra nights can be purchased with little notice.
Beautiful view of the Independence Square from your bedroom window.
Unique Quality: I stayed in a double standard room. This consisted of a bathroom (toilet, sink, bath and shower) our bath did not have a plug though.
The other room consists of two small single beds, two sets of draws, two radiators and a television (all channels in russian and ukrainian- music and regular channels). Beds are reasonably comfortable but the pillows are a little hard.
The room is very basic but suits a purpose. It is livable and you are not in your hotel that much with all the great things kyiv has to offer.

Nice and cosy hotel
Kozatsky" Hotel is situated right in the centre of Ukrainian capital - on the Independence Square. Due to its favourable location and perfect service, the hotel is considered as one of the most popular in Kyiv.
Unique Quality: Since 2002 hotel's clients have an opportunity to view new centre of the city - restored Lyashski Gates, built in XI century, coupled with a lot of sculpture compositions of modern Ukrainian masters.
Prices are for single rooms M-35$, B-$50, double room - $60, double lux - $100. Breakfasts are abundant :) thus dont have to go to McDonalds (which is nearby :)

The Kozatsky Hotel
The Kozatsky Hotel is suppose to be located in the very centre of Kiev, on Independence Square. Has anyone stayed here, or does anyone know anything about this hotel? Thanks!

It is a two star hotel, but it has a perfect location: in the very center of Kyiv, near the major metro lines, within a walking distance to most of the sites and the best restaurants.
Good choice.

Haven't stayed there myself but heard about this hotel.
The location is excellent, the service is... don't expect smth good indeed. The hotel is not of many "stars" and as all the hotels in Ukraineare over-rated.. just be prepared. It the most probably won't be bad but won't be too good either.
