this is a relatively new three-star hotel is good for a short business trip. I would not chose it tough if I came for a longer period of time or for vacation. there are 7 types of rooms, which vary by name (Rodos, Capri, Mark Octaivian, Tiberius, Cleo and Caesar), the level of comfort and price. I stayed in a standard room ("Capri"). the room was clean, the furniture (IKEA-style) was new. there were also a TV and fridge. the bathroom was small, but modern (toilet and shower cabin) and clean. the hotel also has sauna, swimming pool and hamman (not included into the room price). it's also has one of the hottest Odessa Night Clubs (was closed for renovation while we were there). breakfast is included served in the Palladium Lounge cafe, a nice French-style cafe, located around the corner. you have to walk out of the hotel, and turn around a corner, which is fine unless it's raining and you happen to forget your umbrella home. as for breakfast, they have an interesting system, which I don't think I have seen anywhere else. there is a continental menu, and you can chose whatever you wish from it for 35 UAH ($7). if you go above, you will have to pay the difference. so before ordering, check how much is what you are orderings(a colleague of mine paid additional 30 for having a bottle of Perrier). The hotel is located just couple blocks from the railway station, and 30 min from the airport. you can walk to the center (about 30 min walk) and to the sea. | | | | PALLADIUM HOTEL: Nice, little too removed from the center of town Compare Rates NEW! | Satisfaction: | | | | |
I recently stayed here for a week. For the most part I enjoyed it - the room was large and clean, the cafe provided a nice complentary breakfast, the staff was accomidating, and the night club and disco is large and popular. They have a pool and spa, but they are not included in the room rate, and use must be scheduled in advance. From my standpoint the biggest drawback is the location- it is a good 30 minute walk to the center city, and a fair cab ride from the beach. It is close to a train station and a trolley runs right outside the front door, so if you know the local transit system that may not be an issue. Another problem I ran into was noise - between the disco, which I could hear in my room, and a concert in a public plaza a half block away, I was blasted out any hope of sleep on the Saturday I arrived, which continued untill 2 or 3 am. If I had not been pooped from 28 hours of travel, this would not have been such a problem. There was another concert in the plaza the night of April 1st, along with fireworks, which was nice (and ended at midnight).
