good place to return
I returned to Tsentralya in rather a rush, quite late at night, having arrived in city, evening before day I was due to - counter staff were same as before & still very obliging, & I was in a 3rd floor room about 10 minutes later - I was very tired & slept well, but if you're planning a longer stay, I'd recommend arranging the higher floor rooms, because when I stayed before, on 2nd floor, I was often woken by traffic/trams &, being 0dessa, even a girl on a horse, riding on cobbled street, after mid-night! Basic room price has gone up 60grivna since my previous visit 2 years before, to 300grivna, which is about in line with inflation - nothing really new to report, other than breakfast arrangement has altered to buffet-style, so if you're feeling hungry, that's better - only gripe is the 'mickey mouse' self-service, water heater that cannot even cope with heating enough water to fill a teacup...
Unique Quality: 0dessa is famed for its outstanding architecture & this hotel is an impressive building, providing you accept, like all 0dessa, it's showing its age now.

Awful customer service
I didn't even stay here. I popped in to ask about room rates, was initially shouted at by a clearly irritated receptionist, before grudgingly being shown a badly-furnished room with no water - the price was about USD40 per night. I was becoming so annoyed by the service that I quickly left. In my view, better to book an apartment if you're looking for budget accommodation.

Good place
Stayed here in 03, 04, 05, 06, and 07. Highly recommended, especially for the price. And they keep improving it year after year. Breakfast is included in the room rate, and it is not bad. If I go to Odessa again...I will stay there. Only downside: like the other reviewer said...can be a little noisy right on one of the main streets.

l recommend this as a good value hotel, especially as it's situated on the main high street & very close to Deribasovskaya, etc...
photo's here are very accurate of the interior

& desk staff are friendly & speak fluent English & there's a hairdresser on site & being 0dessa, she's also very attractive!
the main drawback is also the location, being so central in 0dessa, it's noisy outside with trams, revellers - especially at night.
