Leto: Renting a room, several room, small house etc.
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • While staying in Yalta we were renting a very tiny house incuding just one room and a small corridor where the oven was. In the yard there were 2 more small houses like that.
    it was 10$ per night.

Very clean, bright, including tv, a bed and a sofa.
Toilet and shower were out in the small yard, but it's not a problem at all during summer;) Just ask the owners if they have hot water.
Actually in the whole Crimea you won't need anything else, just a bed and hot shower;)

Historical and nearest to the City Centre: "Mariino" Hotel
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • One of the most beautiful buildings on the quay is the building of hotel "Mariino". The third floor was under built by Krasnov in 1895. He decorated a roof with a balustrade and decorative vases. It's famous because the Great Russian writer Lev Tolstoy styed there. There is a memorial plate with an inscription about this fact.

Hotel Mariino is located in the city centre of Yalta, on the well-known Yalta quay in several meters from seacoast.
The hotel is known still from XIXth century, and now there are the VIP-number and apartments for reception and service of foreign governmental delegations.

The oldest hotel in Yalta: "Taurida" Hotel
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • In the building of Trading houses there is a pass to the hotel "Taurida" - the former hotel "Russia". It was built in 1875. It was one of the best hotels in imperial Russia.

M.P.Musorgsky, N.A.Rimsky-Korsakov, N.K.Roerich, A.P.Chekhov, A.M. Gorky, I.A.Bunin, S.V.Rakhmaninov stayed there. N.A.Nekrasov finished there his poem "Who in Russia live well". V.V.Majakovsky with L.Brick lived there later and finished his poem "Well!". The ladder and the tile are kept since those times.

The new President-hotel Taurida is reconstructed as the modern hotel. There are Venetian court yard with marble fountains, a magnificent facade with columns, the transparent arch of a roof, a wall thickness, ceilings in height up to 4m, spacious terraces and verandahs, a penthouse with glass "lanterns", marble ladders with unique sculptures.

  • It was quite adventurous to get a room in this hotel. The guy at the reception was standing in, so communication was rather difficult, but our little Russian helped. We got obviously the most expensive room, a lux room with a bedroom with a small balcony, a sitting room with a bedsofa, TV and roaring fridge, a small entrance room and a bathroom. Hot water was from 6pm till 9am. We paid 210 UAH for the room, no breakfast.

There was a view over the promenade, the Black sea and the main square with Lenin.

Since in May 04 we still needed a visa, the guy first looked strangely because I had a private visa and we had to fill in a 2 page form for registration in Russian, now that was fun!

Please note that prices go up in summer every month and in peak season like August this room would have cost more than 100 Euro, but you could sleep 4 people.

    Yalta: Yalta-Intourist Hotel
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • It's the largest hotel complex in the Crimea. The building stands highly above the sea, the lift goes down to a beach.
We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and were satisfied.

Oreanda: The best hotel in the city
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Constructed about 100 years ago in 1907 the hotel is considered the best in the city. There is a cinema, diving-center, a night club and other. However this hotel simultaneously is the most expensive.

The hotel is located on Lenin's quay 35/2.

    Yalta Intourist Hotel.
  • Tip Rating:
  • Yalta Intourist Hotel.

Situated in a picturesque place on a hill; excellent food offered in the restaurant; a swimming pool with sea water.
In the times of the Soviet Union common people could not even dream of staying in Yalta Intourist - only by protection. The hotel seems old-fashioned to me, because now interiors are made in a different way. Still, I enjoyed my stay.

    Oreanda Hotel.
  • Tip Rating:
  • Oreanda Hotel.

Extremely beautiful exterior, near the beach, seems to be rather expensive... I did not stay there, but my friend and I walked nearby, and I even felt like taking a picture in front of it.

    We stayed at Drosba, located...
  • Tip Rating:
  • We stayed at Drosba, located about 3 miles west of Yalta. It's supposedly all-inclusive with 3 meals a day. Beach is fine, very close to the hotel. Also they offered some excursions to Alupka, the Botanic gardens, Sevastopol etc.
Food and general service was crappy. We ate out most of the time.
