Yalta: Yalta-Intourist Hotel
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • It's the largest hotel complex in the Crimea. The building stands highly above the sea, the lift goes down to a beach.
We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and were satisfied.

Yalta: Huge hotel-nice place to stay
  • Satisfaction:
  • for such a huge hotel, it was very nice to stay in. They have a huge breakfast buffet, and they kept the hot food hot. It was fairly close to downtown. The marshrutka's came by too seldom. Not too expensive either.

We stayed on the 14th floor and had a great view of the sea. The dolfin show was good. They had several small restaurants that were good. We had pizza with very good service.

Yalta: The First and the Worst
  • Satisfaction:
  • You want to say something nice about a place. The Yalta Hotel was my first stay in this beautiful slice of the Crimean coast. Even though their restaurant gave me diarrhea as monstrous as the slab of concrete that is the Yalta Hotel, I had a wonderful time in the city of Yalta itself.

That’s about all the nice you can say.

This was simply the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The condition is shabby. The prices are high relative to better hotels in Yalta. The location is too far away from the attractions in Yalta so you're buying taxi rides every day.

The staff are par Ukraine, so expect rude treatment and inefficient service. It took two hours to check in at the desk after which I got a room about the size of a closet. I upgraded to their junior suite for the remainder of my stay; a process which took another two hours. The staff is not totally to blame for such slow service because it was necessary to reboot the computer several times.

The problem with this hotel is that it is state run. They still exist in Ukraine and are always bad. For the adventure traveler the Yalta Hotel offers a soviet-style experience without all the Communism.

    Yalta: Old Communist Playground?
  • Satisfaction:
  • An utter concrete monstrosity that is as visually welcoming as herpes on a wedding night. This enormous beast can be seen from all vantage points in Yalta and looms above you on the drive up the hill until you hit the forecourt. And then strangely, it actually becomes quite fun. A complete blend of people, from Russians, Germans, Swiss, French, English, Ukrainians, Polish etc, the hotel caters for all. Something like 28 bars are within the hotel, there are 2500 rooms, 8 restaurants, a casino on the top floor, various adult shows somewhere in the catacombes and it's own private beach front. Incredibly surly staff (as to be expected), a complete acceptance of prostitution (the hookers live on the 16th floor), and basic rooms, but all with cracking views across Yalta Bay. It's an experience

Being propositioned at 3.30am when you head down to reception for a bacon sandwich and have to bat off the advances of one of the many Russian 'escorts'. Trying to find the 28 bars in one evening. The private beach and a 30 minute massage by this 60 year old guy who contorts you to places you didn't think you could bend. And if take a moment to think what this place used to be like when it was based on the old communist principal of holidaying, it's quite eye-opening

    Yalta: Budget Hotel
  • Satisfaction:
  • One of the biggest hotel in Yalta.......with the same name can offer u a wide variety of options in accomodation starting from $37 for single person & $54 for double. This also includes Complementary breakfast (u can select whatever u feel is suitable from a wde variety of cusines).

It is very near to Massandra Palace as well as to Swallow nest (by seaway).

The hotel is next to the Black sea and thus provides a very soothing feeling when u stand in the balcony. Being the highest building in Yalta.....it is visible from anywhere...practically.
