As usual, the most "visited" place is the city centre. Romantic narrow streets, ancient buildings, little bars and Uzh river.
I am sure, you will enjoy the little promenad in the centre of Uzhhorod. I just had a good time there

this is a page from the regional newspaper at Uzhgorod.
article about my org. printed dec.1997.
When we had the first transport to Uzhhorod a newspaper came to take an interview about our organization because it was accidently exactly on Dec.5th. the children got their presents. At the time i was their i forgot which date it was because of all the work.
Faith maybe, the children were very happen because it was the first time they got some toy or cuddle just for themselves:-)

On the picture u can see one a building from the soccerstadion, the room inside cant be used anymore, look at the black line, uptill that line the flood damaged this building.

a museum with houses from the 19th-20th century.
we didnt spend enough time here i would have liked to walk around all day and see every detail but time was limited so we just entered a few homes and i talked with 2 ladies about shoes and clothings from that time.
Sure a must see activity!

Uzhhorod
A charming city in Trans Carpathian region, the "Wetsrnest" point of Ukraine.
It was a part of Austrian0Hungarian empire, but it belonged to its "hungarian" part. A lot of people there speak hungarian more fluently than ukrainian.
The city is "divided" in two parts by Uzh, which can seem quite small but it causes a lot of trouble in spring time when the waters come from Carpathian mountains and the city often suffers of flood. The city centre is typically European, with narrow streets and nice buildings of classic, barocco and renaissernce style.
