More about Tyn-Y-Fron
We found Tyn-y-Fron to be very comfortable and welcoming. The rooms are immaculate and well equipped (ours had toiletries, hair dryer, kettle, tea/coffee and biscuits, TV/DVD combi, electric blanket, alarm clock and more). The room we were in (Rose room) was very spacious and had a genuine feel of luxury to it.
The breakfast is excellent. Fruit, yoghurt, cereals, fruit juices, tea/coffee, pancakes, toast and a full cooked breakfast. You could help yourself which was great, and all food was locally sourced.
Lesley was very friendly and informative about the local area, even managing to get us a last minute table at a fully booked much sought after restaurant (you must eat at the Bistro).
The B&B is very well placed to explore North Wales with ease, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. We will go back there.
Everything about this place is beautiful. We stayed there for a couple of nights when we just wanted to get away from London and enjoy some countryside. The rooms are spacious and spotless, tastefully decorated with very thoughtful attention to detail. There is a big supply of tea and coffee and some biscuits, which to us is always important! The bed was probably the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in and we loved the bathroom with plenty of toiletries and lovely little touches to make it feel comfortable! The views from our room and from the breakfast room were breathtaking. The breakfast was delicious and kept us going all day. Lesley, the charming owner of the place was very helpful and had a lot of good advice for us about places to visit, restaurants to eat etc. We had a very enjoyable stay and will be coming back!

Home Away From Home
Our stay with the Porters and their sweet dog Ben at Tyn-Y-Fron was wonderful. The inn is charming and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated and offer you all the niceties to make you feel at home. They have a large sitting room/dining room for guests to use with a lovely view of their front garden and the mountains beyond. The back garden was a fun place to sit and relax after a busy day of sightseeing. The inn is perfectly located a quick walk into the town and a short ride to Snowdonia and Conwy. The Porters are friendly and welcoming and we felt right at home. We will definitely stay here again if our travels take us back to north Wales.
Welcome shelter from the pouring rain!!
After a day of shockingly wet weather and getting soaked attempting to ascend Snowdon, we received and very warm and friendly welcome upon arrival.
Our soaking gear was whisked off to the laundry to dry whilst we were shown to our generously decorated and appointed, small-yet-perfectly-formed, en suite room.
The precisely estimated 7 minute walk into Betws-y-Coed took us via a pretty Edwardian footbridge and through a quaint railway station for an evening meal in the town.
Breakfast was a delicious combination of continental and full-cooked in a lovely room with a very large window offering great views over the Conwy Valley, which would have been even more impressive without the driving rain and sleet......
We stayed at Tyn-Y-Fron for the weekend and we have to say it was one of the best B&B's we have ever stayed in. It was homely, comfortable and very clean. Lesley and Tony Porter are great hosts - very friendly and make you feel really comfortable.
Our room had an absolutely beautiful view over Betws-y-Coed - it was a real picture. The room was tastefully decorated, extremely comfortable and had lots of little extras that you do not normally get in a B&B - even a heated blanket which was greatly appreciated after a long, cold and slightly damp walk and the bed itself was heavenly ! The view from the dining room was as lovely as the view from our bedroom and the dining room itself was clean, modern and comfortable, breakfast was delicious and you didn't want for anything. Would definitely recommend the accommodation.
Pleasant and comfortable stay
We really enjoyed staying at the Tyn-y-Fron and found it a very welcoming and relaxing place to be. The location was excellent, and we found Lesley and Tony to be very helpful in giving us information about the local area and helping us to plan our holiday.
The breakfast is not to be missed, a hearty full-Welsh affair with all the added extras, and the plush and warm bedroom was a comfort to return to from the rain!
Great place to stay!
Lesley made us feel very welcome in her beautiful home. Her attention to detail in the room by those little added extras just makes you feel even more comfortable ( DVDs, biccies, toiletries etc). The room we had amply accommodated an extra bed for our son(age 8yrs). Breakfast was fab and really set us up for our days of walking - & what a fantastic view from the dining room especially on a sunny frosty morning!! The only problem now is that too many people will visit & we won't be able to get in again!
Tyn-Y-Fron Our Best Bed & Breakfast ever used.
We stayed at Tyn-Y-Fron B&B last Monday and Tuesday nights that is February 25th & 26th. From the outset we were welcomed into a HOME, like friends not visitors. Atmosphere and appearance when going in is most impressive, very clean, very comfortable, the quality of the place is obvious on first sight. The food great, plenty of it and not 'Fussed over" or 'pestered' by owners as we have been in the past in other places we have not been back to.. View of scenery and birdlife from our room was great, they obviously encourage wildlife. Betws-Y-Coed is a great small shopping village with lots of things both to see and do, though a bit short on parking spaces. Hopefully we will be going again quite soon, its a great area made better by having somewhere like this to stay.
Will recommend this B & B to any able bodied as this older type property not really suitable for wheel chairs etc. I use 2 elbow crutches and managed the stairs fairly easily as they are not too steep with small risers and also not too steep.
We were running a bit later than we anticipated and Lesley stayed up to allow us in and show us the room. She ever provided us with a bottle of wine and offered to make us some supper. the room we were in was the largest and had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The attention to detail in the decor of the room was excellent. The following morning we looked out of the bedroom window to see a large bird feeding station which was being very well utilised but the local birds and a squirrel. We went down to breakfast and has a wonderful view of the valley directly in front of us as the morning mist was lifting. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious and despite up being a lit later we were never rushed and extra tea and cafetier coffee was alway on offer.
It was a truly love place to stay a real escape from the mania of everyday life. I would recommend Tyn-Y-Fron to anyone.
Fantastic place couldn't be better
My wife and I had a super stay here. Lesley was very helpful the room clean, spacious and the breakfast tremendous. We would stay here again.
