The Crown Hotel: Creaking historic

It's a bit of worry when you click on "Accommodation" tips and nothing prearranged pops up. That sort of sums up what Brackley is about. The staff here were friendly and the meals passable but there was still a smoke filled atmosphere that hopefully will be disappearing soon under the new legislation.

Unique Quality: Unforgettable. How can ever purge your memory bank of the experience of having to seriously duck your head beneath massive archaic wooden beams to get into a room that may have been used for hundreds of years and also featured those selfsame beams. It really was a walk where getting there was half the "fun". It reeked of history and the stairways creaked and you had to step up and duck your head to get into the ensuite but I'm glad I stayed here. This is what travelling is about. Taking you out of your comfort zone and giving you an experience you hadn't anticipated.
