In my job I get to travel, it’s only around the UK but even that is better than nothing. What I don’t like is spending endless nights in identical soulless chain hotels so I am always on the lookout for places with character and the Dubrovnik has buckets of that.

The Dubrovnik was founded by the late Mr Basic who knew the hotel business inside-out and his family continue to run the hotel in accordance with his high standards, the balance of the profession and friendly is just right so you get everything you want from a high class hotel but at the same time you feel as if you are staying with friends, Magic!

Unique Quality: The Basic family have stamped their mark completely on the place, getting things right is a matter of pride, the rooms are clean, bright and comfortable and the food is second to none.

Rooms are available for conferences and meetings and the entainment is original too (from Salsa Dancing to big bands) there is a friendly bar - it's got the lot. Coming here is work for me but I actually look forward to my visits.

Oak Avenue has the deceptive feel of a leafy suburb which gives the Dubrovnik a peaceful feel to it, particularly during an afternoon, walk up the road and you are on Manningham Lane and into one of the more 'interesting' areas of the city (Lister Park is 2 minutes away).
