Corn Mill Lodge Hotel: Ex-Garden Centre Turned Hotel

I have just spent an overnight stay at this 3* hotel which hosted the reception for my eldest nephew's wedding. Situated just off the Leeds Ring Road (A6110), it has conference and restaurant facilities. Rooms come in various sizes from compact double to suite.

A friendly reception greeted us where our check-in was concluded very swiftly before we took the lift up to the 2nd floor and our rooms. The rooms, whilst compact, have all the facilities needed for a short stay (I would like to have seen a larger room to see if these are more suitable for a longer stay). A double bed, TV with remote, tea/coffee making facilities, fan, heater and dressing table. The compact double rooms lack a wardrobe, having instead a hanging rack. A shower room with the usually accoutrements finishes off the room.

During our stay, a coach party also arrived which seemed to have a large elderly population. The hotel staff were very attentive to their needs.

The hotel itself was once a garden centre and the grounds reflect this with beautiful floral displays (great for photographing the bride and groom in front of). It has a well proportioned car park and is well situated just off the A6110.

The food for both the wedding breakfast and evening buffet was excellent, as was the breakfast buffet the following morning. I am sure the hotel's restaurant receives plentiful visitors when not closed for private functions - phone ahead for reservations.
