More about Ewich House
such a highlight
This area was the highlight of our trip. And this place was an ideal place to stay. Food was great (especially the haggis). We stayed here a couple of nights and spent 3 days in the area. The hosts were soo helpful and friendly. Really made you feel welcome and relaxed. We're already planning our trip to go back there. Great pubs and food nearby and the scenery is awesome. Quiet place to stay.
Friendly with good home cooking
We were impressed by the friendly atmosphere and good food in the dining room. There is a well chosen and reasonably priced wine list. Many of the guests are walking the West Highland Way which makes for an interesting and cosmopolitan clientele.
what a great place
What a great location, what a great place, Ewich house is one of the places you think should exist but can never find. If you are looking for a friendly bed and breakfast with good home cooked food which is within easy reach of loch lomond, Ben Lomond and virtually on the West Highland Way or just as a stop over as you travel farther north this is your spot.
We have already altered our holiday plans to include extra days around Loch Lomond now that we have found an establishment as comfortable as this as a base.
Dogs being welcome was the icing on the cake
fabulous find in a fabulous country
My 6th visit back to Scotland and i love travelling around the highlands, lochs and glens. What a wonderful find this house was. We were so impressed by the location- great views. The accomodation was superb- furnishings and all the finishing touches made it very easy to feel at home. Saw a stag within 1 hour of arriving, which made my stay. Great hosts and i just love those scottish breakfasts. will come back again with my family for a longer stay next time.
Another Great Stay
Another great stay for our party of seven people this year. For the last four years we have spent a week at Ewich House as it is perfectly located for walking and climbing in the lower Highlands of Scotland. The service is very friendly and food excellent, this, combined with comfortable rooms with en-suite facilities makes for a welcome return after a long day of winter walking in the hills.
Proprietors, Debbie and Ian, always go the extra mile to please and ensure our stay is as good, if not better than the previous one. Each year we return they have refurbished and improved another aspect of the guest house, continually reinvesting in the business and in the experience of their guests. Whether passing through for a night's stay or for a week or two at a time, the Ewich house would be hard to beat!
THE place to stay ...
A very friendly and well run guest house . Ian and Debbie give 100 % to make sure your stay there is as comfortable and easy as possible without being overbearing . Genuinely friendly and at such a reasonable price .
The house , although slightly out of the village , is stunning both in location and features , with EXCELLENT freshly cooked meals and reasonably priced wine & beer a night in with fellow guests is not a problem and usually better than them local pubs which seemed a tad drab ....
Stay at Ewich and you`ll be back again !!
The best B&B in Scotland ???
................ Probably .
Home from Home
It was indeed a home from home. From the minute we stepped in the doorway we were greeted with a warm friendly smile from Debbie. The whole house is warm, comfortable and very welcoming. Ian and Debbie could not have been more hospitable hosts and told us that their house was ours for the duration of our stay. We had a lovely meal and bottle of wine that evening. Three course dinner for £15.00ea. Our wine was £10 but there was plenty to choose from. The only thing wrong was that we were only able to stay for one night !
Would certainly recommend Ewich House as a lovely place to stay and hope to return some day.
Just how a B&B should be
We stayed at this B&B while on the West Highland Way. The owners welcome you into their home and are attentive to your comfort. The style of the house is modern rustic but with an emphasis on quality and everything has been finished to a very high standard. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable and there is a large guest lounge with Sky tv, books, games and CDs. Outside are extensive grounds for gentle strolling.
As the house is halfway between Crianlarich and Tyndrum the owners will provide an evening meal given enough notice. There is no choice but it is great home cooking. We had a hearty home made soup, a fish pie and apple pie with custard but the following night guests were getting a beef stew and later possibly pheasant. They also have a alcohol licence and there is a good selection of wine. Oh, and the breakfast was the best "Scottish" I had this trip.
The owners are lovely people who take a great pride in their endeavours and rightly so because they've done marvels.
Wonderful from start to finish
I stayed at Ewich overnight on a trip down the west coast of Scotland, and my only regret is that I did not stay with Ian and Debbie longer. Everything at Ewich was remarkably comfortable, welcoming, and warm (which I particularly appreciated given the snowy spring weather). I was lucky enough to have eaten both dinner and breakfast there, and the food was fantastic and plentiful. I highly recommend this B&B!
A Very Special Place to Stay
Our family has stayed in numerous B&Bs and guest houses in Scotland over the past 16 years, and Ewich House stands out as one of the very best. When I phoned to book, they were completely welcoming - unfazed by some of us being vegetarian, happy to put up a folding bed for my daughter. When we arrived on a very cold and snowy evening, we felt we had truly come to a home-away-from-home. Our room was cosy: beautifully and simply decorated and with really good quality towels and sheets. The entire house has a very peaceful and appealing atmosphere.
When we went out for a walk before dinner we were stunned by the beautiful view of the mountains, as well as by the beauty of Ewich House itself. Dinner was superb - cottage pie (meat and vegetarian versions), perfect vegetables and a memorable sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Breakfast was equally delicious. Several of the other guests had booked in for a weekend of walking, and although we were on our way West to see friends, we were sorry to leave the next morning. We paid no more for our stay than at other B&Bs, but the value for money is excellent. We were away travelling for two weeks, but our 10-year-old daughter is still asking when we can go back to Ewich House!
