There is paid computer access from your room via a television - really not worth it as it's very limited service and sluggish - but you are able to connect up your own laptop if you wish. Ironing boards are available in each room, as are regularly restocked free tea and coffee making facilities. All in all an excellent choice for Bristol as there is no real luxury alternative within the city. There is a Marriott but that can be noisy at the weekend and has rather mixed reviews. Families in particular should look no further.
It's difficult to find an attractive recently built hotel and - bless it - the Novotel is no exception. Well to be fair it's not too bad and once you walk inside it's modern, sparkly and spacious. It's situation, just a short walk from Bristol's railway station, is first rate. You're a short jaunt away from most places (15/20 mins walk to the riverfront area where you can find smart galleries, restaurants etc) and believe me with the city's roads jam packed, and roadworks all over the place, travelling by car isn't always a relaxing experience. Motorists will however be delighted to discover that the hotel has it's own secure underground car park - it was free up until the end of last year but now charges £5 per day irrespective of how many times you pop in and out. There are two lifts than run from the car park all the way up to the top fl;oors of the hotel. Believe me, it's worth it. For those of a nautical persuasion, the city's river ferry has a stop about 5 minutes walk north of the hotel where an hourly boat (sometimes more regular) will take you deeper into the centre.
