Bristol's Number 1 B and B (surely) !

My partner Shelley and I were in Bristol for a rock concert at the Carling Academy and stayed at the Greenhouse for just one night ... We could not have been made more welcome by Kathy, the owner.

Everything in the house is top of the range - Kathy used to be an interior designer and this b and b is clearly a labour of love for her.

The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in and I have never seen a greater selection of free hot drinks in the room, including fresh coffee and a cafetiere. Also unsurpassed was the range of free, top quality toiletries in the spacious bathroom.

The Greenhouse is numero uno in many Bristol travel guides - I can fully understand why. Although it is by no means the cheapest B and B in the area, the slightly higher price (£80.00 for a double - Dec 2008) is more than justified by the sheer quality of absolutely everything.

We had a lovely stay in Bristol - Kathy gave us directions across a nearby footbridge onto Spike Island where we visited both the local arts centre for tea and cakes and then on to the SS Great Britain ( both only a short walk from the house).

Unique Quality: There is ample on-street parking just outside the Greenhouse - A real rarity, I am told, in Bristol.

Kathy has clearly decided who her "target" client is and to cater for them and no doubt her own personal taste all the food and drinks at the B and B are organic and where possible locally sourced. Vegetarians are well looked after too with veggie sausages, if required. Oh, and the range of jams and marmalades, greek yoghurt and breakfast cerials on offer was amazing too !

Finally a mention for Archie, her little dog - Very friendly, just like his mum and no trouble at all.
