Travel Tips for Bedford

Dunstable Downs

by nhcram

Dunstable Downs is managed by the National Trust. It is set within the Chilterns area and is a place of outstanding natural beauty. There is a visitor centre and a lovely circular walk you can take through woodland. The walk is about 6 and 1/2 miles long.
High above the downs you can see the beautiful landscape and in the fields below the car park there is a gliding club. The day we visited was ideal weather and we saw many gliders taking off and landing.
A great place to take the family for a picnic.

"Home"

This is our home, a lovely 16 century cottage in the old village of Wootton. We will soon be leaving here on our travels in Jan 09 for six months.

A little about us. Well we are a couple who love to travel the world, as you can see we have been to a few places so far, the bits in green on our map indicate where we are going next year along with some old favourites like India, cambodia, Borneo, Singapore and of course Thailand.

We will be keeping an up to date diary/log when we are travelling, this is just as much for us as it is for anyone who wants to read about our experiances.

So happy travelling and as the old Buddhist saying goes -

Live Yor Dreams, Don't Dream Your Life.

ROLL ON DEPARTURE

by Totakeke

"Not too long now"

There seems to be very few people who can stand up and honestly say, hand on heart, that they love their home town. I would have to be one of those hecklers at the back of the room shouting things like 'liar' and 'yeah right', then I would be asked to leave. I have to admire the town that I onced loved as i grew up from child to child in a mans body, but now I look at it and realise 'what a dump'.
The town was mostly only built for the workers of a giant steel works and now instead of sooty faced, hard-working burly men, we have incoherent hood-rats and used needles in kids playparks... i would go on but my attention span can some tim.............. oooh a spoon...
