Travel Tips for Luton

more than just the airport

by awladhassan

Most people who go to Luton nowadays go to the airport.
Luton, however has other things to offer:
Andale Shopping centre
Luton also has a lively and exciting night scene, with large and small bars, café’s and nightclubs available to visitors and residents located in the town centre. A wide range of music from the UK dance, house and garage scenes can be found at most pubs and clubs. Also to be found in Luton are a great number of restaurants and eateries, serving a wide range of dishes to suit your taste with dishes from China, India, France, Thailand, Greece and Italy widely available at a range of prices.

Although you would expect Luton to be suburban in nature, it is actually surprisingly ‘green’ with over 7% of its total area made up of open space. More than ten sites of importance for wildlife can be found in Luton, with most accessible by public transport.

According to the tourist guide "Must see and do" are :-
Stockwood Craft Museum & Gardens, Stockwood Park, Farley Hill, Luton
The Mossman Collection, Stockwood Park, Farley Hill, Luton
Luton Museum and Art Gallery, Wardown Park, Old Bedford Road, Luton
St Mary’s Church, Church Street, Luton
Woodside Farm and Wildfowl Park, Near Slip End, Luton
Site of Someries Castle, Off the B653 near Luton
John Dony Field Centre, Bushmead, Luton
