Why not pay a visit to Walton Hall Gardens. They are about three miles from Warrington just off the old Chester Road.
There are extensive gardens and woodland around the Hall which is now owned by Warrington Borough Council.
There is a childrens zoo, a golf course, pitch and putt and lots of other activities to keep families entertained.
You can get there by bus from Warrington Bus Station on the Chester bus which leaves from stand 15 at 5 minutes past the hour.
Take the bus to the Walton Arms - this is a great little pub. Try the carvery at lunch time. The other day I thoroughly enjoyed the 'crunchie chicken with orange marmalade and chilli.
