King's College
There are lots of beautiful college buildings in Cambridge but the King's College would have to be one of the most impressive... The Cathedral is absolutely huge and the other buildings around the campus are too!

I am planning to take a train from London King's Cross station to come Cambridge. I was buying the ticket from raileasy.co.uk site and was given two types of tickets - Standard and First class with 10 pounds price difference. If first class provides great comfort, I would go for that. Any word on this? Or there is not much difference. Please advise.
The price seems reasonable but it depends on the time of the train - if it is at rushhour, between 6am -9am and 5pm -7pm go first class! As a regular train traveller - it is imposible to get a seat at these times so go first class
Well, if you go first class, you'll be in the same carriage as the rest of the passengers and you'll hear their conversations on their 'phones just as you'll hear the first class passengers on their 'phones. It's the same snack trolley and the same air. The partial screen made of perspex is hardly a partition.
Save your money to go towards something you enjoy! How long is the trip? An hour?

I really see no point whatsoever in travelling first class on UK trains: as noted above there is very little difference (other than one's perception of oneself, I suppose). Save the money for a coule of pints/ice-creams/whatever you fancy.
Check the fares on www.nationalrail.co.uk first, to ensure you are not paying a commission (I am not familiar with 'raileasy'.so don't know how they function).
I will catch the train on Saturday - 8:52 Am to be exact from King's Cross Station.
Hi again!
08:52 on a Saturday!
Don't go First Class!
Have fun in Cambridge!

As already mentioned, there's really no difference in the two. Besides, it's only an hour's train ride!! If you were going to Scotland or something, I'd be saying othwerwise...

Kings College Chapel was completed some 70 years after it began and is a testimony to the skills of the masons of the day. The valuting in the roof is lighter than that seen in any other comparable building in the country.
In Cambridge there are two semi-professional clubs, and your nearest to the centre is at Milton Road, just north of the river. At Cambridge City you can watch a game in friendly surroundings kick off normally at 3pm Saturdays and 7.45 pm Tuesdays.
Around 500 people attend for £10 adults and £5 for under 16's. Food is available and the bar is open to all before and after the game
Check the website for matches. The new season starts early August
Ely is a fantastic old town about a half hour from Cambridge. It has an impossing cathedral and numerous museums. I forgot my camera so it's a good thing they also had a great pub at 62 Silver Steet, called the Prince Albert!
Walk east across the park from the central bus station, and you'll come across more shops, and at the eastern end of these, there's a useful indoor shopping centre.
I often drop by to browse though the CDs and DVDs in the Virgin Records store, or go to the Warner Village cinema in the complex. But there's also a Debenhams department store, a good branch of Heffer's bookshop, a Mothercare shop, a BHS and many more. While the redevelopment of the city centre is going on (until 2008), the local John Lewis department store also has it's temporary new home just next door to the Grafton Centre (it's moving back across town when the redevelopment is done).
Unusually for Cambridge, there's also plenty of parking and there's a bus stop outside, but it's an easy walk from the centre, too.
