Either way, the hotel trades on it's supposed 'poshness', but takes the tack of presenting itself in that awful 'Disneyesque' style of 'ye olde medieval england'. Acres of red carpet, shields and brass things abound over the public rooms, that are just too dammed 'busy'.
You would half expect the serving staff to appear in tradegies of beefeater costumes and serve 'Authentik ye olde medieval hamburgers with Robin Hood relish' to the customers.
If you have no taste and are an American then you will probably like the Georgian townhouses that are knocked through to create this place. If not, then at one hundred and fifty quid a night plus the hotel is way overpriced.
