This began as a child's game. The contestants each have a nut suspended on a string. One tries to break the other's nut by smashing his own against it. If he fails, then the other has a go. This has become an international event, with players from the Continent. Sponsored by Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream, with proceeds going to assist the visually handicapped. Just a string with a nut on it.
There is a trainline that runs from the city centre to a small village some 15 miles to the west. The purpose of the train isn't actually to get anywhere it is simply to feed the need for nostalga with the puffing engine pulling some old rolling stock along through quite pleasant countryside. I would estimate that you would spend maybe 2 - 4 hours no more.
i was born here and lived here for 18 years so i know the place quite well....altough its always changing and constantly suprised by new developemnts that pop up over night!!!! Anything I have to say about the place is as a resident and isn't it always the way that you haven't really explored your own area as you would if you were a tourist!
