Travel Tips for Peterborough

Temperate climate

by mccrorj

Peterborough is one of the drier areas of the UK and in the last twenty years I can state that it does not suffer from severe fluctuations of weather although it has four clearly defined seasons. If you are coming in the winter there is no need to pack your thermals, it will be cold but not artic like. Easilyb accessible throughout the whole of the UK Plenty of photo oulets printing photos or burning you digital images onto disc or memory stick When visiting the uk you couldn't be further from the sea than when in peterborough

Ferry Meadows

by CAROLINEARCHER

Enjoy the great outdoors at Ferry Meadows!

Facilities include lakes, playareas, Caravan Club site, watersports centre, cycle hire, visitor centre and shop.

Nene Park stretches over 6 miles along the River Nene and offers formal and informal leisure activities.

There are meadows and woods, for birdwatching and pleasant walks, a collection of modern sculptures and an extensive network of cycleways. There are two 18 "pay and play" golf courses and pitch and putt.

Admission is free but there is a charge for car parking at weekends and Bank Holidays from 26th March to the end of October.

Welcome to Peterborough

"Most boring city in england??"

Morcambe and Wise, english comedians of the 1970's once described this city as the most boring in England. I have to say that this is a bit harsh but you have to know where you are going if you want a night out. I'm originally from the west coast of scotland and clearly miss the mountains and sea but the city is centrally located and well placed for travel north to south. More difficult if you want to go east or west. If you want to travel to London then it's only 40-50 minutes away but avoid between rush hours!!
