I booked a single en-suite room here for 1 night in December 2010. The staff at the hostel are extremely helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and warm, I was offered a room with a window or one with a television - I opted for the latter! The bathroom and shower were clean and modern and of a very good standard for a hostel. The bed was lovely and comfortable if not a little high for someone like me with short legs!
There is a well equipped kitchen area, a comfortable lounge with bookshelves jam packed with books, video's and games available for guests use and free Wifi. There is a nice garden balcony area with seating which was covered in ice when I was there but I'm sure is very nice in the summer!! If you are sharing a dormitory or wish to leave your luggage, there are some large lockers available for use - I was given a padlock to use during my stay.
The Hostel is very well situated - just a stonesthrow away from the City centre, close the the canal towpaths and Grosvenor Park.
There are many eating places really close to Chester backpackers and a grocery store a few doors away.
Unique Quality: Friendly staff.
