Where to stay in Chester
I didn't really know what to expect when I made my booking over the internet but as it turned out the Dene Hotel was great value for money and probably deserves more than its two-star rating. It's quite a large hotel with 52 en-suite rooms and our room was spacious with a generously high ceiling. The hot breakfast was good quality and included in the room price. The hotel staff were also welcoming and helpful during our stay. The entrance and reception area are well stocked with information leaflets about events and attractions in Chester.
The only point to bear in mind is that it is quite a long walk from the hotel into the centre of Chester so catching a local bus or taxi is a better option if you are here without a car.
